Antique Coverlet Throw Pillow | Brown & Cream
Antique Coverlet Throw Pillow | Brown & Cream
We are pleased to share our first offering from “Home Daily” — Antique Coverlet Throw Pillows, cut & sewn in-house from the scraps of 19th-century “overshot coverlets.” These bright, bold blankets were handwoven by women throughout Appalachia. Like favorite dishes, the “recipes” for their geometric patterns were passed down to their children and shared with neighbors.
Weaving a coverlet was often a months-long process. Some weavers would even use the wool from their own sheep—shearing, spinning, and dyeing—partaking in every step of the blanket’s creation. Typically comprised of wool with linen or cotton, their endurance is a real testament to the skill and tradition of these weavers.
