This special edition throw pillow is cut & sewn in-house from the scraps of a 20th-century cotton “overshot coverlet.” Traditionally, these bright, bold blankets were handwoven from wool and cotton by women throughout Appalachia. Like favorite dishes, the “recipes” for their geometric patterns were passed down to their children and shared with neighbors. 

This particular cotton coverlet was handwoven c. mid-20th century in the same tradition & process as our antique coverlets. To complement the striking red & black, the pillow’s reverse is sewn from a luxurious jet black wide wale corduroy from England.
