One-of-a-kind cotton jersey cut & sewn from 1930s French mattress ticking. This soft, herringbone fabric is tightly woven to keep feathers or straw from poking through while sleeping. This particular piece of cloth was found with hemp twine threaded through it, indicating how it was fastened over the mattress. Multicolor selvedge. Patchwork mending.
