This shirt is cut & sewn from an embroidered cutwork tablecloth c. 1960s from my family’s own collection. The original tablecloth was so large that the flowers felt small and underwhelming. Cutting it down to size for this shirt brought the pattern into an elegant proportion that admittedly took us by surprise. We’ve sewn the floral motif symmetrically to accentuate the garment’s front, back, collar, and sleeves, as well as placed a hidden flower under the collar.
